What We're Into - December 2015

Some of the things that made December 2015 wonderful:

Molly || Designer & Dressmaker

"This Empty Northern Hemisphere" by Gregory Alan Isakov - I think Gregory has been my artist of the year. I've deeply enjoyed his albums through different seasons and adventures the past twelve months, and this album was the most delightful companion to driving around an overcast Central Texas over Christmas break. Thanks, Greg!

Alaffia body care products - The nature of our business is to value people over profit, and I've been JUST DELIGHTED to discover tons and tons of other companies who have the same values. Along with their coconut body products being organic and non-GMO, they source their coconuts from a community in Togo where they pour back a percentage of profits into maternal health initiatives! Lotion that smells good, is great for my skin AND helps mamas and babies stay healthy? Yes please!

Chai Hot Toddies - There is literally nothing more cozy or amazing for a cold night. Steep a chai in that hot water!

Call The Midwife - I reconnected with the show that affirms every single feminine emotion. Catharsis at its finest!

Kelsey || Writer & Storyteller

"A Severe Mercy" by Sheldon Vanauken - "It is, I think, that we are all so alone in what lies deepest in our souls, so unable to find the words, and perhaps the courage to speak with unlocked hearts, that we don't know at all that it is the same with others.

"Advent, Vol. I" by The Brilliance - This album took me through the advent season so well this year! It reminded me what a fiercly kind God we have.

MAC matte lipstick - I didn't know that dark lips could make me feel like a new woman, but they did and they do. And that's that.

Avocado Toast + basil and salt and pepper. JUST TRUST ME on this one. I've been eating it for like 3 months straight and gotten better every morning.

30 Rock - "One of my New Year's resolutions is to say "yes!" Yes to love, yes to life, yes to staying in more!" How had I never discovered Liz Lemon and her infinite wisdom until now? This show is the best mix of pure weirdness and clever satire.

Carley || Administrator & our Rock

The Hamilton Soundtrack - When I was in high school we did a play based on Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This is not that play. #iamnotthrowinawaymyshot

Twinkle lights on houses and trees - one of the few redeeming things about cold, dark, snowy nights

Lord of the Rings"And that’s the way of a real tale. Take any one that you’re fond of. You may know, or guess, what kind of a tale it is, happy-ending or sad-ending, but the people in it don’t know. And you don’t want them to.”

Advent - the season of the now and the not yet

Mockery Brewery Cocoa Coconut Stout - 'nuff said.

We're also over-the-moon for our new Simple Kind tees! We've partnered with another local social business to help create these super soft, tri-blend shirts! Streets2Life offers transitional employment to individuals coming off the streets in Denver through a small screen-printing workshop. Every shirt is made with love.
